Croatia is a medium-sized European country geographically located between Central
and South-East Europe. It is estimated that in 2017 Croatia had 4 124 531 inhabitants, out of
which 1 990 341 were men and 2 134 190 women. Approximately 1 689,000 inhabitants were
employed in 2018, out of which 110 000 in agriculture, 443 000 in industry and 1 134 000 in
the services sector. The unemployment rate reached a historically low rate of 7.3%.
